Position Overview: The College of Business, Government and Law is currently seeking dynamic and passionate applicants for the position of either Associate Lecturers (Level A) or Lecturers (Level B) in Indigenous Business and Cultural Tourism. The incumbent will be a valuable member of the Business discipline adding strength to our new and growing areas of tourism, event management, and sports management.
About the Role: The college will consider applicants for Teaching Specialist (Academic) Level A or Teaching Specialist (Academic) Level B. Candidates are encouraged to refer to attached Position Descriptions and apply to the role(s) they believe fits their profile and passion.
All applicants are required to identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person and be recognised as such by an appropriate Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander body.
Key Responsibilities:
* Create, coordinate and conduct lectures, tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops and assess students enrolled in Business and Cultural Tourism topics of the College.
* Contribute to the planning and evaluation of these topics.
* Assist in the development of topic and course materials with appropriate guidance from Course Coordinators and/or Senior Academic Staff.
* Teach indigenous content within the programs across the disciplines in the College.
* Satisfactory completion of 4 years tertiary study or equivalent qualifications and experience in Business, Indigenous Studies, Indigenous Culture or Tourism.
For Lecturer – Teaching Specialist (Academic) Level B:
* Create, coordinate and conduct inspiring teaching informed by approaches that enhance the student experience, with a focus on Business and Cultural Tourism topics.
* Contribute to the planning and evaluation of these topics, undertaking the role of Topic Coordinator as required.
* Teach indigenous content within the programs across the disciplines in the College.
* Make an independent contribution to the review, renewal, development and design of curricula and courses that are attractive to existing and new cohorts of students and that nurture creativity and critical-thinking skills.
* Completion of a PhD or EdD, or equivalent qualification.
- Individuals whose duties involve cultural activity which prioritises Indigenous knowledges and practices requiring community cultural recognition: evidence of such recognition plus completion or near completion of a postgraduate degree or substantive experience in some branch of Indigenous studies/education.
