Network Design Engineer Location Stevenage (ST04) Our purpose is to make the world more sustainable by building trust in society through innovation. As a Network Design Engineer, you will contribute to this by working collaboratively in the project team and designing and implementing medium/large solutions and changes to enable services for our customer that are cost-effective. We are looking for a Network Design Engineer to work on delivery opportunities taking place within the secure Defence and National Security sector. Your role will involve supporting the rollout of a sophisticated LAN Technical Refresh project involving take on and management of the customer network infrastructure. This includes understanding the business and technical requirements, acceptance of new equipment into service, and the retiring of older equipment with before and after reporting and analysis and issue investigation when required; technical design support, configuration work, supporting IT Health Checks, troubleshooting issues, and supporting the project team in its milestone deliverables. Your transferable skills and experience: -High Technical knowledge of networks, network security and their configuration and operational processes -Minimum of two years commercial networking experience -Strong, in-depth knowledge of networking technologies, i.e. LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, routing, switching and subnet addressing -Strong in-depth knowledge of networking hardware, ideally from the Juniper family -Experience of network implementation work -Good network management, security and configuration understanding -Working knowledge of ISDN, VPN, Broadband solutions -Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools -Well-developed leadership, management and consulting skills.
