Here at Teaching Personnel, we are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant to work at one of our SEND schools in Aylesbury.

This role involves working with Secondary students with ASC and ADHD. They are seeking a Teaching Assistant who can take an empathetic and proactive approach, and support learning across the school.
The successful applicant must have an understanding of Autism.
Information about the school:
It is a special school which caters for students who have moderate to severe learning difficulties. There are currently 105 students at the main site. The school follows a primary model and is designed to meet individual educational needs and develop social and personal skills. The curriculum is organised to give students the opportunity to experience and explore different subjects. They provide high quality education and care and students have access to a range of therapies, multi-agency professionals and a team of therapists who support students’ needs. They offer an excellent training package for staff together with a fantastic opportunity to become part of an innovative and forward thinking team who are providing a therapeutic and unique learning environment for its pupils. All students have access to swimming at their primary site, a rebound centre and purpose built outdoor spaces including a MUGA (multi use games area) and playground equipment.
They are close to bus and train links and on-site parking is available for staff.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Working 1 to 1 or with small groups
- Supporting the students inside and outside the classroom
- Supervising break and lunch times
- Being a role model
- Preparing the classroom and resources
- Collaboratively working with the Class Teacher
- Reporting any observations on progress, well-being and behaviours
- Supporting to de-escalate challenging behaviours
- Attending regular training and meetings when required
Hours:
Monday-Friday 8:30-3:30pm.
Full time only – no part time accepted.
Pay:
£90 - £100+ per day – negotiated if successful.
