Job Purpose
An exciting and rewarding career opportunity for a Lead Buyer has arisen to support and aid the development of the sourcing process for Partnerships and Strategic Procurements.
As a Lead Buyer, within the Strategic Procurement and Partnerships Team, you will work closely with the Category Managers and Buyers in supporting the successful implementation of a large-scale partnerships and procurement programme.
You'll be responsible for ensuring seamless collaboration and driving significant savings and benefits throughout the contract lifecycle. In joining us, you will have full exposure to the organisation, our major projects, and our largest industry partners.
Stakeholder collaboration is vital for this role. You will therefore need to build strong working relationships, manage key internal and external stakeholders effectively, and ensure a full business partnering model, whilst maximising value, collaborating with other experts, and leading initiatives to tackle challenges unique to our industry, contributing to our success and helping us achieve our objectives.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
* Engage with stakeholders to support the alignment of business strategy and policy to support the delivery of category plans.
* Ensure regulatory compliance including but not limited to the Utilities Contracts Regulations 2016 and The Procurement Act 2023.
* Support the management of supplier contracts / Agreements and service level agreements to ensure reduced risk to UU.
* Proactively support the management and mitigation of commercial risks.
* Ensure collaborative working across the Commercial, Engineering, and Capital Delivery directorate.
