This is an exciting time for Legal Services at Waverley. We’ve recently undergone a restructure and are now taking steps to appoint a number of key roles within this fast-paced team environment. These roles will help shape the future of the team, as we seek to contribute to the delivery of our overall Council commitments for the Borough and its residents. As Senior Contracts Lawyer, you will lead on a mixed caseload of contractual matters and advise on procurement, which will include acting as the Council’s primary point of contact for all contract transactions. Key Responsibilities: - Drafting and reviewing, Grant Funding Agreements, framework agreements and service level agreements and contracts relating to all aspects of the Council’s business including a variety of business, goods and service, construction (JCTs and NECs) and works contracts - Assist with advising on procurement and supporting the Council navigating the new procurement regime - To assist in drafting, reviewing and commenting on reports and preparing legal implications for reports to the Council, its Executive, full Council, other Council committees and other Officer/Member level meetings. - Provide high quality and timely legal advice and support to Officers and Members - Attend relevant Council Committees, working groups and briefings to give legal advice to Officers and Members. - Provide support and supervision to the Contracts Lawyer.
