Job Description
1. HACCP Member
2. To review and update the Quality System that complies with all standards required by the regulatory authorities.
3. To support the continuous improvement of a good Food Safety Culture and the Food Safety Business Plan.
4. Key responsibilities include managing the day-to-day duties of the Technical Team and ensuring audit readiness at all times.
5. Corrective actions are put in place to ensure technical integrity and standards are maintained.
6. To work in partnership with a range of high-profile customers, ensuring and promoting best practices.
7. Reacting and proactively planning for technical demands that arise as the sites grow.
8. Monitor compliance against all legal entities.
9. Co-support customer visits and complaints (root cause analysis, trending, interface with customers). Lead or deputise when the Group Technical Manager is not on site.
10. Maintain the specification database and ensure the highest quality standards are met through robust quality practices.
11. Monitor the quality and safety aspects of purchased products.
12. To provide technical assistance to the product development team.
13. To liaise with operations and ensure compliance with good housekeeping KPIs.
14. To contribute fully to the continuous improvement in business performance as a member of the Senior Management Team.
15. Support the internal auditing management system.
16. Set QA compliance objectives and ensure that targets are achieved.
17. Assess the product specifications of the company and its suppliers, comparing with customer requirements.
18. Ensure compliance with national and international standards and legislation.
19. Set up and maintain controls and documentation procedures.
20. Observe technical staff in carrying out tests and checks.
21. Mentor positive change to employees to incorporate improved quality methods.
22. Establish standards of service for customers or clients.
23. Root Cause Analysis mentality for internal close out of raised non-conformances.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Food Safety Compliance Manager/Quality Manager should have:
1. Ideally, a recognised qualification in Food Science, Microbiology or a related field.
2. Experience in a similar role within Food Manufacturing.
3. Profound knowledge of food safety regulations and standards.
4. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
5. Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
6. Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
