Job OverviewWe are seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Test Engineers to conduct Periodic Inspection and Testing (PIT) of electrical installations. The successful candidate must have a strong understanding of Electrical Installation Condition Reporting, and have great customer service skills as you will be working within the Social Housing Sector.Key ResponsibilitiesInspection & Testing Responsibilities:Perform Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs)Conduct visual and functional inspections, followed by dead and live testing, including:Continuity of Protective ConductorsInsulation Resistance TestsPolarity ChecksEarth Fault Loop Impedance (Zs, Ze) TestsProspective Fault Current (PFC, PSC) MeasurementsRCD TestingFunctional Testing of AFDDs (Arc Fault Detection Devices), SPDs (Surge Protective Devices), and RCBOsIdentify and code electrical defects per IET and NICEIC guidelinesRemedial Works & ComplianceAico Smoke Alarm InstallationRequired Qualifications & ExperienceEssential:Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrical Installation (City & Guilds 2357/2365) or equivalent.City & Guilds 2391-52 (Inspection & Testing) or 2394/2395.18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2018+A2:2022) certification.Strong knowledge of IET Guidance Note 3, NICEIC & NAPIT EICR coding guidelines.Experience conducting EICRs and remedial works in domestic and commercial properties.Familiarity with Aico SmartLINK technology and BS 5839-6 smoke alarm installation requirements.Full UK driving license.Desirable:City & Guilds 2377 (PAT Testing).Experience with electrical vehicle (EV) charger installationsExperience working with HMO fire safety compliancePASMA/IPAF certifications for working at heightSolar / renewable experience (BPEC)DMEV / MVHR (Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery) experience advantageousKey Skills & Competencies:Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose electrical faults efficientlyExcellent understanding of electrical safety compliance, risk assessment, and remedial actionsAbility to work independently and maintain high-quality workmanshipStrong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and liaising with clients.Immediately rectify all C1 and C2 defects on the day of testing, ensuring electrical safety complianceConsumer unit (CU) replacementsUpgrading protective devicesEarthing and bonding upgradesRewiring or corrective actions for non-compliant circuitsFire-rated cable installationsBenefits:Competitive salary based on experience.Company vehicle, fuel card, and key testing equipment provided.33 days annual leave including bank holidays.Employer pension scheme.Training and professional development opportunities.Company Van and fuel CardCompany Equals card for work related purchasesWe are waiting to hear from you!TPBN1_UKTJ
