37.5 hours a week
Standard hours may be worked over the full 7 days and/or between 08:00 – 20:30 hours depending on the rotation.
London weighting will be 1/6 Outer London and 5/6 Inner London weighting.
Main duties of the job
The Physiotherapy service covers a broad range of services and staff on the band 5 physiotherapy rotations have the chance to gain experience in:
1. Adult and paediatric community physiotherapy
2. Musculo-skeletal out-patients
3. Acute hospital Care of Older People wards
4. Intensive Care Unit
5. Acute Surgical, Medical and Orthopaedic wards
6. Orthopaedic rotation at the new elective orthopaedic hub at UCLH

SKILLS
* Demonstrates ability to communicate well with patients, Physiotherapists and other health professionals.

* High standard of written and spoken English.

KNOWLEDGE
* Knowledge of general conditions seen in Physiotherapy.
* Respiratory conditions.
* Rehabilitation – Care of older people / neurology.
* Demonstrate ability to select appropriate treatment options.
* Demonstrate ability to develop a treatment program.
* Teaching and presentation experience.
* Understanding of national initiatives related to health and current developments in the NHS.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
* A wide range of Student placements including 4 out of 5 of the following essential placements:
* Respiratory care.
* Care of older people.
* OPD – GP and Consultant referrals.
* Orthopaedics.
* ITU.
* Paediatrics.
* Women’s Health.
* Work experience outside physiotherapy training in areas related to health and social care.
* Previous Band 5 experience.
* On call Competent.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Physiotherapy Health Professions Council registration.
* Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent.
* Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Membership.
