We are looking for a flexible and enthusiastic part-time medical receptionist/admin assistant to join our small team.
The successful applicant will provide a high quality and responsive service to all patients in accordance with practice requirements.
The normal hours of work are 2pm-6pm Mon-Wed and 12pm-4pm Thurs-Fri.
Main duties of the job
General reception duties including telephone and face-to-face patient contact, booking appointments, assisting patients in their enquiries.
General admin duties including processing various documents and checking patient-completed forms.

Peel Croft Surgery has a small but cohesive team that includes three partners, one nurse, one nurse associate, one HCA, and a management/admin team of seven.
We are a training practice meaning we usually have at least one registrar training with us, plus medical students at various times.
We have attached staff including a midwife, pharmacist, and social prescriber.
The team is friendly and works well together achieving high QOF targets.

The successful applicant will provide a high quality and responsive reception service to all patients, carrying out medical reception and administration duties in accordance with practice requirements. General duties will include:
1. Maintaining a presentable image
2. Greeting patients in a friendly, helpful, and welcoming manner
3. Booking appointments or signposting patients as required
4. Answering telephones promptly and liaising with patients and outside agencies accordingly
5. Completing patient registrations according to practice policy
6. Processing repeat prescription requests according to practice policy
7. Processing incoming post as required
8. Scanning/workflowing documents according to practice policy
9. Completing IT tasks on Emis/Docman/Accurx
10. Assisting in premises closure where necessary
General
1. Comply with all relevant practice procedures
2. Liaise with colleagues where necessary, including nursing and medical staff, reception colleagues, and practice manager, following instructions where required
3. Follow Health and Safety procedures at all times
4. Report any identified Health and Safety hazards to the Practice Manager
5. Respect the privacy, dignity, needs, and beliefs of patients, carers, and colleagues
6. Cover sickness/holiday where needed
7. Complete all mandatory training as advised
8. Attend staff meetings where appropriate

Person Specification
Qualifications
* The successful applicant should have a GCSE in English, grade A-C/4-9.
Experience
* Experience of working in primary care, particularly knowledge of EMIS clinical system, is desirable but not essential as training will be given.
