About the Role:
As a Social Worker in the Children & Families team, you will manage a diverse caseload, ranging in complexity. Your primary responsibility will be assessing, planning, and implementing actions that ensure the best outcomes for children. You will work closely with statutory agencies, voluntary sectors, carers, and families to deliver high-quality services. You will be supported by supervision, and in your first year, we will provide increased support to help you develop autonomy and confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a caseload involving complex assessments, reviews, and preparation of welfare reports.
* Work closely with statutory, voluntary, and private agencies to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
* Maintain accurate, timely records using agreed systems.
* Stay up to date with relevant legislation and local policies, particularly concerning Looked After Children, Children in Need, and Child Protection.
* Attend training and development opportunities to meet HCPC and Social Care Capability Framework (SCCF) requirements.
* For Fostering & Adoption teams: Recruit, train, assess, and support foster carers and adoptive parents.
About You: To be successful in this role, you must be a qualified social worker, registered with the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC), and committed to completing the ASYE standard (if within two years of qualification). You should be familiar with child development theories, child protection, and the needs of Looked After Children.
Requirements:
* Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
* Experience working within a systemic practice model such as Signs of Safety.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Knowledge of family court proceedings and ability to work within this setting.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Commitment to personal development and continuous learning.
