This LSA role is in a specialist provision for children, aged 11-19, all of whom have experienced significant trauma, social, emotional, and mental health challenges.

A practical trial day will take place in the school to ensure the role is suitable for you. This is dependent on your availability to start ASAP, considering any notice period or if you are finishing University.

The role involves working with secondary-aged students, all with EHCPs, including those with Autism, OCD, and varying degrees of social anxiety.
This position requires physical work combined with a pragmatic approach to making academic progress as each child's context allows.
Some anti-social behavior may be present; this is part of the role when aiding society's most vulnerable children. All training and support will be provided by the school through their excellent training system.
Various therapies and holistic processes will be introduced, where even a little progress is considered a success.
Pathological Demand Avoidance and Pervasive Developmental Disorder are among the challenges faced.
The focus is on all ages, with diverse cognitive abilities among students.
Positive engagement is essential, giving children a sense of acceptance. Different approaches may be required, as traditional talking therapy may not always be effective.
Setting objectives for students and promoting as much independence as possible is crucial, especially for those in assisted living.
