Family Support & Protection Services We are aiming high in Rochdale s Children s Social Care Service with a real focus on providing good and outstanding services for children and families in Rochdale. Our recent JTAI showed how far we have come and what a great place to practice Rochdale is. Many strengths were identified including practice by committed multi-agency partners that are helping to protect children across all age groups. Relationships were strong and respectful and there was a culture of learning and openness to challenge in response to concerns about children being harmed. S taff across health services, social workers, police, schools and early help practitioners report that they are well supported, valued and have good access to a wide range of training and development opportunities. We have increased the number of teams in our Family Support and Protection Service and as a result are recruiting to a small number of full time permanent Practice Manager posts for ambitious, strategic thinking and inspirational managers who are ready to take the next step in their careers. We have a modern, award winning building where you sit with your colleagues as well as at satellite locations in the neighbourhoods We are located next door to the tram / bus exchange and the train station is a 10 minute walk We are 10 minutes from the M62 corridor You will be part of a developing service, we are embedding a family safeguarding approach with multidisciplinary teams and group supervision and we are investing in our workforce, offering everyone bespoke training in motivational interviewing. We are looking for experienced Social Work Practitioners who are ready for the move into management. You will need to have had experience of managing a complex caseload yourself, with experience of safeguarding work, ideally including court work. You will be able to demonstrate how you have supported, coached or mentored colleagues, this may include students.
