A highly reputable property consultancy firm is opening a new office in Edinburgh and is looking for an experienced Surveyor to join their growing team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work on high-profile projects, particularly in the land acquisition, utilities, and infrastructure sectors. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing the business in Scotland, working closely with stakeholders, clients, and landowners.
Key Responsibilities:
* Land Acquisition & Agreements: Negotiate heads of terms, option agreements, and voluntary agreements for acquiring land.
* Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, building relationships with key stakeholders and clients.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with landowners and agents to maintain and develop long-lasting relationships.
* Disturbance Claims: Manage the negotiation of disturbance claims following works, ensuring efficient resolution.
* Access Consents: Secure consents for access across third-party land to facilitate ongoing works.
* Claims Management: Handle the negotiation of Injurious Affection claims related to infrastructure projects.
* Process & Systems Improvement: Contribute to the development of internal processes and systems, optimizing resources for greater efficiency.
* Legal Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to legal requirements and relevant industry standards, including adherence to professional conduct rules.
* Team Leadership: Manage and mentor junior members of the team, guiding their professional growth and ensuring a high standard of work.
Qualifications & Skills:
* Professional Qualification: Ideally RICS qualified, or with significant experience in the utility, infrastructure, or energy sectors.
* Rural Experience: Experience in rural surveying or working with mixed portfolios (commercial and residential) would be advantageous.
* Legislative Knowledge: Strong understanding of relevant legislation, combined with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Ambition & Initiative: Proactive, ambitious, and keen to grow with the business, while continuously developing professionally.
* Relationship Building: Demonstrated ability to drive new business and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
* Interpersonal Skills: A collaborative team player with strong communication skills and the ability to engage diplomatically with all levels.
* Adaptability: Capable of working in a fast-paced, changing environment, with flexibility to manage shifting priorities.
* Driving Licence: A full driving licence is required, as the role involves some travel.
