This is a challenging and exciting lead service engineer opportunity within a successful engineering company that is involved with the design, manufacture and support of high speed sorting machinery for the financial sector. As the service team leader you will travel to customer sites across the UK to support service team members with machine escalations, write reports and ensure the team is sufficiently trained. You will work with cross functional teams across the business to drive improvements within the process, people and the machines; working with the team to reduce costs and waste and maximise revenue. Candidates who are based around the Midlands - Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester, Stafford, Northampton, Worcester, Derby etc would be ideal Fun Stuff: Service Team Leader As a service team leader you will be involved with supporting the team and machines at 7 customer sites throughout the UK. Responsible for ensuring the service team are well trained, have the appropriate tools necessary to perform their duties and are achieving targets set. Lead weekly team meetings to set daily/weekly objectives, support and guide the team with any issues, drive best practice and nurture client relationships Ensure all service reports are well maintained and presented to senior management and customers Oversee routine maintenance and service, breakdown support, fault finding and repair Co-ordinate installation and service resources, liaise with customers to resolve any problems, ensuring a successful conclusion to the relevant project This position is open to service team leaders or senior service engineers who are looking to take a step into management Skills / Knowledge Required: Service Team Leader Proven experience working as a field service engineer / service engineer / maintenance engineer, commissioning engineer etc, ideally within a machinery, capital equipment or production equipment environment Strong team leadership skills ideally with some line management responsibility or the desire to progress into a lead role is key Capability to travel to multiple UK customer sites from the South to the North Good customer service ethic and communication skills coupled with strong technical and practical abilities when required – building systems, fixing electrical / mechanical issues, root cause analysis etc Knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering, coupled with experience of either high speed machinery, drive systems, automation, motors, bearings; printing, sorting, packaging machines etc Good proven machinery installation, fault finding, service, maintenance and repair ability This company offers excellent career progression opportunities so a passion and willingness to learn and develop new skills is a must The company HQ is based in Basingstoke, Hampshire but engineers who are Midlands based would be ideal – Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester, Stafford, Northampton, Worcester, Derby etc
