An established UK manufacturer of audio and communications products for the broadcast television, radio, gaming, e-sports and conference solutions industries, is seeking a highly capable embedded software and firmware development engineer who has already worked in the industry on real-world product development projects, to develop and write code for microcontrollers and other devices across the company’s range of proprietary hardware electronic products.

In this role you will primarily be writing embedded firmware code in C/C++ for a range of devices including STM32 ARM based MCUs, as well as some RP and Sharc processors.
There will also be opportunities to develop and work on embedded Linux for kernel requirements and other device drivers, as well as some PC based programming.
You will have the opportunity to work from inception to finished product on a variety of product types for different market applications within the business including television broadcast production, live sound applications, sports commentary, conference and government buildings, e-sports and gaming products.
Based in the south of England, this position is fully on-site working closely as part of a small team of individual contributor and managing engineers, with some flexibility for occasional home working.
About You You will already have a developed knowledge and understanding of embedded systems design, and be confident in your skills in C/C++ to write good and robust code.
You are most likely to be strongly interested in audio or video products and may have some previous experience working in this field.
You may also have experience with Embedded Linux or with Sharc DSPs including design tools such as CCES although this is not essential.
You will enjoy working independently on your own product projects but will also be comfortable collaborating and contributing as part of a team.
It will also be beneficial if you have some knowledge of Audio IP network protocols such as Dante and AES67.
You will be looking to build on your existing development experience with an established hardware manufacturer in an industry that will enable you to be fully engaged and interested in the products and applications you are working on.
You will already be located in or willing to move to the Maidstone or Sevenoaks area in Kent, UK and will have full long term entitlement to work in the UK.
