Job Description
* Job Title: Analytical Chemist
* Job Type: Permanent
* Location: West Thurrock
* Hours: 40 hours per week, covering early mornings, days, evenings and nights. This will be on a 7 week rotating shift cycle (average 37.5 hours per week)
* Salary: From £24,400, plus shift allowance £2,632.50
* Industry: Oil and Gas
Are you a recent graduate or someone with a passion for laboratory work? We are looking for an enthusiastic Analytical Chemist to join our team! This role is crucial in supporting the oil and gas industry by performing essential laboratory testing in a fast-paced environment. You'll gain hands-on experience, develop technical skills, and contribute to the accuracy and reliability of results for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct routine testing on oil, gas, and related products following industry standards.
* Learn to interpret and validate test results, ensuring accuracy and compliance with quality guidelines.
* Operate and maintain laboratory equipment (full training provided).
* Work collaboratively with the laboratory team to meet deadlines and ensure smooth operations.
* Maintain clear and accurate records of all testing activities.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
* A degree in Chemistry, a related field, or equivalent experience.
* Some prior laboratory experience required—we are looking for a strong willingness to learn.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work both independently and within a team.
* Willingness to work a rotating shift pattern, including nights and weekends.
* A valid UK driving license.
