P&U Job Description
About Us
At Direct Line Group, insurance is just the start. Combining decades of industry experience with talented people in every field, we’re a customer-obsessed market powerhouse. We work together to be brilliant for customers every single day.
Pricing and Underwriting is a complicated world, where historical data, geospatial information, and mathematical models meet talented analysts. Pricing our products balances our business goals and customer needs. Our Pricers and Underwriters reduce risk and predict future events, ensuring our business can continue to grow while providing the best price for our consumers.
Join us as a Pricer in our Pricing & Underwriting Centre of Expertise. You’ll use your pricing skills to work with the pricing and underwriting community and our Risk teams to manage our P&U governance and control environment. You’ll support the delivery of key pricing and underwriting control outcomes, working across multiple tribes to drive alignment, best practice, and compliance with the control environment.
What you’ll be doing
Working in an agile way means you’ll take charge early on, soak up new experiences, and positively influence what we do – making an impact on our customers' lives. We’ll utilise your skills where they are most needed while also giving you the opportunity to build and grow the breadth of your expertise.
As part of your role, you will support the management, ongoing development, and oversight of the P&U control environment to ensure compliance with legislation and regulation and the safe delivery of pricing and underwriting change. You will complete key pricing tasks to support the delivery of control outcomes in a timely and effective manner.
You’ll report to the Head of P&U Centre of Expertise as part of the wider COE team.
What you’ll need
You’ll have good pricing skills, ideally with 2-3 years of experience.
You’ll have an understanding of pricing and underwriting control environments.
You’ll have good communication skills, both written and verbal.
