Maintenance Technician - Multi Skilled

Hours: Week 1 - 7am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday, Week 2 - 3.30pm to 2am Monday to Thursday
Salary: Up to £45,000 plus overtime
Main Job Purpose: To assist with the efficient day to day root cause analysis, repair and general maintenance of machinery, equipment and facilities to meet the operational needs and growth. To ensure that equipment and machinery are functional and fit for purpose while adhering to Health & Safety best practices.
Responsibilities:
1. Help to improve our current PPM schedules.
2. Maintaining and performing PPM schedules to required frequency and standards.
3. Effectively communicate with work colleagues to root cause analyze any breakdown and efficiently repair faults.
4. Assist with disassembling fans, electrical equipment, etc. that operators are required to clean but aren't qualified to dismantle.
5. Liaise with the Engineering Manager, Production Manager, and Technical Manager regarding the installation of any new equipment, ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed.
6. Fault finding on all breakdowns - mechanical, electrical, and pneumatics.
7. Fix faults/breakdowns internally where possible and escalate when external contractors are needed.
8. Manage and liaise with contractors for repairs and servicing, ensuring supervision while on site and compliance with procedures.
9. Ensure all machinery and equipment are safe to use and fit for purpose.
10. Ensure Health & Safety guidelines are followed and take necessary action to reduce accidents and potential hazards.
11. Liaise with Production Manager/shift managers and supervisors on machine faults or breakdowns and respond to all breakdowns within the factory.
12. Support the department with maintaining adequate spares, ensuring essential spares are always in stock.
13. Complete all paperwork for production/maintenance accurately and on time.
14. Ensure all repaired machinery is returned to production safe for use and handed over for cleaning.
15. Weekly record keeping of meter readings and water testing to comply with regulations for legionella.
16. Complete legionella training course.
17. Help maintain the treatment of the water system for the vacuum cooler.
18. Ensure all maintenance equipment is fit for purpose.
Other Responsibilities:
1. Compliance with GMP, QMS, 5'S, BRC.
2. To ensure that Health & Safety regulations are followed.
3. To comply with all company policies and procedures.
4. To carry out other reasonable requests from the Engineering Manager, Production Manager, or Operations Director.
