City and Hackney NHS Talking Therapies is recruiting clinical psychologists with BABCP Accreditation (or working towards accreditation) who are newly/recently qualified.
This is an exciting time to join the service, which has received new government investment to expand the workforce and enhance patient outcomes through innovation.
The service has a strong commitment to research and service improvement and has close links with University College London and Royal Holloway University Departments of Clinical Psychology. We are actively involved in the North Central and East London Talking Therapies Research and Improvement Network based at UCL. The post holder will have one day per week protected for research and service improvement, for example the development of novel treatment pathways. You will also be part of a learning set supported by UCL which will offer you the opportunity to further develop your research and clinical skills.
What we will offer you: · The opportunity to hone your CBT competences with excellent supervision and CPD, in world leading psychological therapy services; Opportunities to undertake service improvement, small scale research, or community outreach to help improve recovery rates, in line with the needs of the service.
Candidates must be able to start in post on or before 31stMarch.
Main duties include:
· To work closely with other psychological therapists working in NHS Talking Therapies.
· To develop and maintain good working relationships with staff in the NHS Talking Therapies team, with the purpose of facilitating client care, planning and dissemination of relevant information
· To liaise with relevant others in the City and Hackney Psychological Therapies Alliance and members of other disciplines and agencies responsible for a client’s
· To communicate highly sensitive and complex information to clients, relatives, and non- psychologists in easily understood Requiring empathy, sensitivity, and interpersonal skills as there may be barriers to acceptance and the atmosphere may be highly emotive or hostile, e.g., issues involving child protection, sexual abuse, domestic violence.
