We are looking for a Claims Handler to join an award-winning, Chartered Insurance Broker in the North West.
You will be dealing with a wide range of claims including Property Damage, Business Interruption, Equipment Breakdown, Employers Liability, Public Liability, Professional Indemnity, Directors & Officers Liability, Terrorism, Cyber, Financial Crime, and Motor/Motor Fleet.
Working hours are 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday. They have a newly refurbished office space with collaborative areas and a fantastic team that work well together and support each other. Flexible working is also available.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Review and assess insurance claims across different products to determine coverage and liability.
2. Acknowledge all new claims to both clients and insurers.
3. Investigate and gather evidence to support claims decisions.
4. Negotiate with claimants, insurers, and others to reach settlements.
5. Ensure all claims are handled in a timely and efficient manner, adhering to FCA guidelines and company procedures.
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all claims activities.
7. Maintain an efficient diary system for all claims, ensuring claims are chased as required.
8. Achieve and maintain a high level of customer service.
9. Develop and maintain good working relationships with clients and insurers.
10. Keep up-to-date with changes in both the Insurance and Childcare Industry.
11. Prepare claims reports to be presented by Account Executives on larger cases.
12. Conduct learning, training, and assessment exercises in accordance with the individual T&C scheme applicable to you. Identify further areas for own development as required.
Essential Requirements:
1. Minimum 5 GCSE A-C grade including Maths and English.
2. Minimum of 3 years’ experience required within the commercial insurance sector.
3. Working knowledge across different classes of claims (would be an advantage).

The position offers a competitive salary between £25k - £30k, which could be higher and is negotiable depending on experience, plus flexible working options, Christmas bonus, private medical, life assurance, support with CII qualifications (if this is of interest), 25 days annual leave (which increases with service) plus extra days holiday at Christmas that are not taken from your annual entitlement.
