With our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, we've established ourselves as a leader in the industry. As we continue to grow, we're looking for talented individuals to join us to oversee and support our sites and VDAs across the North East, as well as providing expert vehicle damage assessments and repair solutions.
About the role
At Steer Automotive Group, our VDAs play a crucial role in our repair process. As Regional VDA, you will be responsible for overseeing and supporting multiple sites, ensuring the efficient and profitable operation of the repair centres in the North East.
Our VDAs assess a wide range of vehicles, using Audatex to calculate costings and the time required to complete all repairs accurately, professionally and to the highest industry standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
13. Conducting thorough assessments of damaged vehicles and providing accurate repair estimates.
14. Utilising your technical expertise to identify the correct repair method required as well as the cost and time scale to produce comprehensive repair plans, in line with BSI 10125 standards.
15. Liaise with insurance companies, customers and internal teams to ensure all repair work and costs are authorised and issues are resolved quickly.
16. Provide exceptional customer service and build and maintain positive relationships with customers and insurance companies.
17. Prepare and maintain detailed records of damage assessments, estimates and repair progress.
18. Lead, coach and support a team of VDAs across the region.
19. Maintain a clean and organised work area and ensure that health and safety regulations and procedures are adhered to.
The role is based at our Washington repair centre, and you will be required to travel to sites across the region as needed.
About you
You will have proven experience as a Vehicle Damage Assessor, or similar role, in the automotive repair industry. You will be proficient and confident in using relevant software, such as Audatex, for estimating and assessment purposes, as well as a strong understanding of vehicle repair techniques.
You will also have:
20. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
21. The ability to work well under pressure and manage your time and resources effectively and efficiently.
22. A high attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate and thorough repair assessments and estimates.
23. Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
24. Be flexible in your approach.
25. A strong customer focus and be able to build relationships with colleagues and customers.
26. Relevant qualifications or certifications in estimating, such as ATA VDA accreditation, will be advantageous.
