Come and be part of the Casualty Reduction Enforcement Support Team (CREST) as a Speed Enforcement Officer on a full-time, permanent basis. You will be working 37 hours per week on a rotational shift basis between 7am and 7pm – Monday to Sunday (weekend allowance payable), based at Wyatts Way, Ripley.
The Casualty Reduction Enforcement Safety Team (CREST) comprises both Police Officers and Police Staff who are responsible for all aspects of speed camera enforcement, administration and process of traffic related offences as well as working with partner agencies on schemes and initiatives aimed at improving road safety.
What you’ll be doing
As a Speed Enforcement Officer, you will be involved in the deployment and operation of mobile speed detection equipment across the County of Derbyshire, identifying offending vehicles from photographic/video evidence.
Using your excellent communication skills and attention to detail, you will carry out face to face, telephone or written enquiries in relation to specific offences.
You will be required to attend both Magistrates and Crown Courts in order to give evidence as an expert witness in the prosecution of offences identified on the specialist equipment.
The must haves
Hold GCSE Grade 4/C minimum in English Language and Mathematics, or equivalent qualification and/or have relevant experience working to the required level.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience carrying out telephone enquiries with members of the public to include conflict resolution.
Be able to organise own workload and meet deadlines.
