Do you have experience working with individuals with high-functioning autism? Are you able to stay calm in challenging situations? Do you have a passion for supporting young people to reach their full potential?
Long-Term Teachers have an amazing opportunity to join the team as a teaching assistant, working at one of our fantastic special schools. You will be working with young people of secondary school age who have high-functioning autism and ADHD.
Our school is an incredible, fast paced and rapidly growing provision that provides outstanding education and care for our young people. You will be part of a close-knit team that works incredibly hard to not only support the students, but support each other.
You will be expected to support the class teacher within lessons, helping students to engage in their learning and manage behaviour. You may be working with students on a one-to-one basis, dependent on need. The students may demonstrate challenging behaviour so it is essential that you stay calm and help them regulate.
Who we are looking for someone:
* Who has a real passion for working with young people, especially those with autism and ADHD
* Who is proactive, resilient and willing to get ‘stuck in’
* Has a good sense of humour and loves working as part of a team
* Be able to engage children in their learning
