Do you want to work in an excellent nurse-led outpatient unit that provides a high standard of care to patients? If so, our vacancy within the East Coast medical elective service might be the job you have been looking for.
Our service provides treatments for a wide range of patients' conditions, with the aim of maintaining their health and reducing the need to access the acute patient setting.
The Bronte/Lawrence Units provide nurse-led outpatient services to patients requiring a variety of treatments, including Blood transfusions, Platelet transfusion, and Venesections. We also provide intravenous therapies, including specialist treatments such as immunoglobulin, bisphosphonates, and biological therapies.
We have a great team of staff and we consistently receive a 100% recommendation of good/very good from our patients' friend and family survey. Our staff gain job satisfaction from providing vital treatments for our patients, many of whom regularly attend our service. This enables a positive therapeutic relationship between patients and staff.
We are looking for a Clinical Coordinator to work part-time, 30 hours per week. The base for the post will be on the Bronte Unit, Scarborough Hospital, but the successful candidate will be required to work at the Lawrence Unit, Bridlington Hospital for one day of their working week as part of the role.
Main duties of the job
* Communicates with a range of contacts internally and externally, for example, managers, GP's, and medical staff and, where appropriate, patients, visitors, and other clients.
* Assist the nurse in charge to analyse and make judgements on a range of situations, for example, deployment of staff to ensure effective cover, which may include comparing available options.
* Plan and organise the administrative function.
* To ensure patients are made appointments that are appropriate, while maximising the unit's capacity and patient flow.
* To ensure our rolling programme patients i.e. Rheumatology 3, 6, and 12 monthly treatment plans are checked, and the patients have the appropriate appointments made in a timely manner.
* Provide advice, information, or guidance to a range of contacts.
* Liaise with patients, medical staff, and Pharmacy regarding prescriptions.
