Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is motivated, dynamic and passionate about patient care to join our Adult Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Respiratory team for a fixed term of 9 months. The successful candidate will be working within the Post-Acute Medicine team specialising in Respiratory medicine.
King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a renowned specialist centre for Adult CF, providing specialist care for patients in South East London, Kent, Sussex and Surrey. As part of this role, you will be working as a core member of the specialist multidisciplinary team including consultants, practitioners, specialist CF nurses, physiotherapists and dietitians. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to deliver on high quality clinical pharmacy service while managing the adult CF specialist service for both in and outpatients. They will also deputise for the Principal Pharmacist, Post-Acute Medicine as needed.
The successful applicant will be a team player with significant clinical experience, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to recommend, substantiate and communicate therapeutic options for complex patients. The successful applicant will receive full training when in post.

Main duties of the job
Key activities of the post holder will be to:
1. Act as a specialist practitioner and role model and manage the day to day pharmaceutical care of cystic fibrosis patients.
2. Participate regularly in multidisciplinary ward rounds and outpatient review meetings delivering and promoting high quality, cost effective, patient focused care.
3. Participate in clinical audit and research, risk management and clinical guideline development.
4. Liaise with homecare delivery companies, pharmacy medicines finance team, shared care hospitals and patients and their carers to ensure timely, safe and cost effective clinically appropriate medication supply.
5. Provide education and training to pharmacists and other healthcare professionals within and outside the Trust relating to medicines use in CF.
6. Participate in regular finance reporting, drug usage and expenditure forecasting.

13. Registered Pharmacist (1 year competency assessed and examined professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council)
14. Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent qualification / experience
15. Registered Independent Prescriber or willingness to complete
