The Client:
We're excited to be partnering with a leading global manufacturing business based in Telford—an organisation that's seen impressive, sustained growth over the past decade. They're now looking to add a Senior Buyer to their high-performing Supply Chain team.
In this key role, you'll work closely with the Supply Chain Manager to lead end-to-end procurement across goods, materials, and services, all while championing the company's forward-thinking sustainability goals.

The Role:
1. Lead the procurement of all direct and indirect commodities, ensuring smooth operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
2. Maintain optimal stock levels aligned with company goals to support efficient production.
3. Oversee key contracted services to site—including waste management, energy, and facilities—ensuring value and reliability.
4. Translate demand forecasts into actionable plans to keep supply aligned with business needs.
5. Own the full supplier lifecycle, from sourcing and tenders to development and ongoing performance management.
6. Lead contract negotiations and renewals, ensuring alignment with commercial and strategic objectives.
7. Make the most of the supplier portal to streamline processes and improve visibility.
8. Play a key role in ERP implementation and maximise system usage for procurement efficiency.
9. Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities through benchmarking and continuous improvement.
10. Mentor more inexperienced team members driving performance and professional growth.
The person:
1. Proven track record in Purchasing, Procurement, and Supply Chain within a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
2. Experienced in both direct and indirect procurement categories with strategic oversight.
3. Confident working with global suppliers and international partners to drive seamless collaboration.
4. In-depth understanding of procurement processes, with the ability to influence and shape long-term strategy.
5. Background in senior roles such as Senior Buyer or Purchasing Supervisor.
6. Experienced in using supplier portal systems to streamline and enhance procurement operations.
7. Proficient in ERP systems and a power user of MS Excel for data-driven decision-making.
