We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Staff Grade Doctor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our NHS medical glaucoma service, providing both clinical and surgical assistance. This position requires a compassionate professional with a deep understanding of glaucoma management and patient care.

Job responsibilities
1. Diagnose, evaluate and manage patients with existing and undiagnosed glaucoma along with other ocular conditions.
2. Perform diagnostic tests and procedures such as visual field assessments, optical coherence tomography (OCT), volk, CCT and gonioscopy.
3. Provide management plans for existing Glaucoma referrals.
4. Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients.
5. Collaborate with ophthalmologists, optometrists, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
6. Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to service development initiatives.
7. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
8. Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding glaucoma management and treatment options.
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
* Medical degree from a recognized university.
* Valid GMC registration with a license to practice.
* Experience in ophthalmology, particularly in managing glaucoma cases.
Desirable
* Excellent diagnostic and clinical skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
Experience Essential
* Professional with a deep understanding of glaucoma management and patient care.
* Experience in ophthalmology, particularly in managing glaucoma cases.
* Previous experience in Ophthalmology.
