COURSE OVERVIEW
Equivalent to a foundation degree, this is an essential course for middle managers. We are using the current ILM Level Diploma for Operational Leaders and Managers as the on-programme syllabus, so therefore this course is now shorter (than the 2017 version.) The seven units are covered in just 19-months, with the End Point Assessment taking five months for the apprentice to run and present a work based project and showcase their Skills portfolio.
Delivered by subject specialist tutors over 19-months in term time: monthly face-to-face workshops at Chichester College and monthly remote tutorials (via MS Teams), followed by End Point Assessment.
In your contracted hours, you will need a minimum of 8 hours every week of the course for study and maintaining your Learner Journal in OneFile.
Anyone who holds a Level 3 management qualification, but not a Level 5, and is on a suitable job role.
An Operations or Departmental manager is someone who manages teams and/or projects, and achieving operational or departmental goals and objectives, as part of the delivery of the organisations strategy. They are accountable to a more senior manager or business owner. Working in the private, public or third sector and in all sizes of organisation, specific responsibilities and job titles will vary, but the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed will be the same. Key responsibilities may include creating and delivering operational plans, managing projects, leading and managing teams, managing change, financial and resource management, talent management, coaching and mentoring. Roles may include: Operations manager, Regional manager, Divisional manager, Department manager and Specialist managers.
Possible progression onto the Level 7 Senior Leader apprenticeship, or commercial ILM Level 7 Award in Leadership and Management plus potential promotion following successful achievement.
You will be assessed on your assignments, reports, presentations, professional discussions throughout the course to build a portfolio of evidence (recorded on Onefile) and complete an End Point Assessment (EPA) with the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) at the end of the course.
The levy funding is £7,000.
If you are you are a SME employer you are likely to pay 5% towards the training cost.
If you are an employer with an Apprenticeship levy (i.e. your payroll exceeds £3 Million) then you will pay in full from your levy account, less an Recognised Prior Learning reduction for each apprentices.
