Reception Class teacher TMS/UPS- Full/time Reception Teacher Required (Full time from Easter with potential to be a part time from September 2025) Priors Field Primary School would like to appoint a full-time, permanent teacher to teach our reception class, starting in the Summer Term 2025. We aim to give our reception children the best possible start to their school life, ensuring we provide the right ingredients to make them happy and secure – which includes developing the best possible relationships with parents - and having the highest possible expectations of what they can achieve within a high-quality Early Years setting. Teaching and General Duties • To inspire children with enthusiasm and a love of learning • To have genuine commitment to provision within a play-based curriculum • To organise classroom and learning resources in order to create a rich and stimulating learning environment where learners are welcome • To deliver high quality teaching and learning to pupils within the Reception class in line with the requirements of the EYFS or national curriculum • To liaise closely with other Year group teachers to ensure the smoothest possible transition • To communicate and consult effectively with the parents of all children • To ensure that wide ranges of role play activities are at the very heart of the children’s education • To ensure the appropriate balance of teacher led and child-initiated activities • To prepare and develop teaching materials, teaching programmes, methods of teaching and pastoral arrangements • To use a range of strategies for teaching and provide a model and guidance for appropriate classroom behaviour, following the guidance in our restorative Behaviour Policy • To be responsible for the effective management of children and staff, encouraging the children to develop their self-confidence and independence • To assess, record and report on the development, progress and attainment of pupils in line with the requirements of the EYFS or National Curriculum • Supervise the work of any support staff who are assigned to work within the class • To ensure that children’s work is valued by managing the provision of good, interactive displays in the classroom • To work co-operatively alongside the Senior Leadership Team Wider Professional Commitments • To fulfil all professional duties as laid down in the Teacher Standards • To participate in the Personal Development annual review procedures and to participate in further training and professional development, using the outcomes to improve the teaching and learning of pupils. • To implement the aims, policies and vision of the school.
