Job Title: Legal Secretary – Cranbrook Contract Type: Full Time – Permanent An established law firm in the South East is looking for an experienced secretary to join a friendly and professional team at its Cranbrook office. About the Firm: With a long-standing presence in the legal industry, the firm operates from multiple locations across the region. Role Overview – Key Responsibilities: Serve as a key contact within the property department Support fee-earners to ensure efficient operations Provide conveyancing quotes to prospective clients Manage incoming and outgoing post Answer telephone calls promptly and professionally Maintain filing systems Apply for property searches and use the Land Registry Portal Draft initial correspondence and prepare sale contract documentation Manage matters on the day of completion Handle mail preparation and meeting arrangements Maintain calendars and schedules for legal staff Uphold confidentiality of client and firm information Candidate Profile – Skills and Experience: At least 2 years’ experience in a legal secretary role, ideally within residential property Confident, polite telephone manner Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel Proactive, well-organised, and able to work independently under pressure Team-oriented but capable of working autonomously Compensation & Benefits: Salary circa £27,000 (dependent on experience) 24 days holiday plus Christmas Eve and bank holidays 5% employer pension contribution Life assurance (4x salary) Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) – includes partner/spouse and dependents Access to Smart Health services (virtual GP, mental health support, and more) Regular firm-wide social events Diversity & Inclusion: The firm is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment.
