The marketing team plays a crucial role in promoting our services and events, as well as amplifying the stories and services of its members. We are looking for a proactive marketing executive to join our team and work with colleagues to implement its marketing strategy, manage social media and create engaging content to enhance our visibility and impact. This is a great, varied role spanning the full marketing mix and offers broad scope for development and creativity for the right person.
Reporting to: Marketing Manager
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To work with the marketing manager to implement Dorset Chamber communications and marketing plans.
2. Social media: day to day management of social media channels (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and X). Tasks include creating and posting content, sharing Business Partner and Member news, engaging with followers and monthly reporting.
3. Website management tasks include updating WordPress site with new content, working with our digital agency and GA4 reporting.
4. Manage and produce regular digital newsletter/email campaigns using Mailchimp.
5. Support production of our popular printed, monthly magazine – Dorset Business Focus. Tasks include producing and editing content, liaising with production team and proofing.
6. Membership support - responding to occasional membership enquiries related to ‘promote’ benefits including member offers, news and training.
7. Provide occasional event support including attending some events and generating social content i.e. photos.
8. Supporting and developing campaigns to support specific projects and events.
9. Production of digital and printed marketing collateral and assets, in partnership with the marketing manager, including materials such as leaflets, show guides, event presentations and membership materials.

Knowledge and experience
* Good knowledge or experience in the breadth of marketing processes and techniques including brand management, scheduling and campaign planning.
* Experience in writing/editing effective copy for use across different channels with good attention to detail.
* Social media channel management including experience of producing/adapting/tailoring social media content for use on different channels.
* Experience of managing social media accounts including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram & X, ideally with experience of Hootsuite or similar.
* Experience of using design software packages such as Canva or Creative Cloud would be ideal, but not a necessity as training can be provided.
* Experience in managing websites, ideally using WordPress or working with a digital agency to maintain a website.
* Experience in photo editing, or a knowledge of photography or video production would be a benefit.
* Track-record of using, or learning to use, online platforms such as Trello, Microsoft 365 (excel, word, PowerPoint), Monday would be beneficial, but specific training will be provided.
* Experience of using a CRM platform.
* Proven admin and project/campaign management experience.
Other requirements
* Able to travel and attend events and other functions off-site (occasionally) as required.
* Access to vehicle with valid driving licence.
