Location: Ammanford
Salary: £83.85 per day
Contract Type: Full-Time/Part-Time
About Us:
At Teaching Personnel, we’re all about creating a vibrant, supportive, and fun learning environment where every student can flourish. We believe that each child deserves the best opportunity to succeed – that’s why we’re looking for an enthusiastic and caring SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our amazing team!
We’re on a mission to make a real difference in the lives of our students, particularly those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. If you’re passionate about helping young people thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, then this role could be a fantastic opportunity for you!
What’s the Role?
As our new SEMH Teaching Assistant, you’ll be the superhero students turn to for guidance, encouragement, and support. Whether it's lending a hand in the classroom, helping students express their emotions, or working one-on-one to help them achieve their goals, you’ll be an integral part of their journey.
You’ll work alongside a fantastic team of teachers and other professionals to make sure every student gets the best support possible – not only to learn, but to grow into confident, resilient individuals. Plus, you’ll have the chance to bring your own ideas and energy to create a fun, positive space where everyone can thrive!
What You’ll Do:
* Build positive, trusting relationships with students, helping them feel safe and supported.
* Assist students in the classroom, guiding them through lessons and helping them reach their academic potential.
* Implement fun, creative strategies to help students manage emotions, behaviour, and social skills.
* Support students in developing self-confidence, positive behaviour, and resilience.
* Work closely with teachers and support staff to create tailored plans and ensure students are getting the right support.
* Help students access school trips, activities, and clubs – making their school experience one to remember!
* Celebrate each student’s progress, no matter how big or small!
What We’re Looking For:
* Previous experience working with children, ideally in an SEMH or SEND setting (don’t worry if you’re new to this – we’ll support you!).
* An understanding of how SEMH challenges can affect learning and behaviour (or a willingness to learn more!).
* A kind, patient, and positive attitude – with the ability to build rapport and make learning fun.
* Excellent teamwork skills – we’re all about collaboration and supporting each other.
* Creative problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to helping students overcome challenges.
* A desire to make a real difference in the lives of students!
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent) are a bonus but not essential.
Why You’ll Love Working for Teaching Personnel:
* A supportive, inclusive, and friendly team where everyone has each other’s backs.
* Opportunities for professional development and growth – we’re committed to helping you succeed too!
* The chance to make a genuine impact on students’ lives, both academically and emotionally.
* A vibrant, fun, and positive school culture where creativity is encouraged!
* Competitive salary and benefits – because we know how hard you work!
