Job Summary
Cheltenham Festivals are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Production Manager to plan and deliver day-to-day production requirements of all festivals and year-round activities.
Job Description
In consultation with the rest of the production team, agree technical specifications (e.g., lighting, sound, AV, staging, and air-conditioning), gather quotes, and place orders with external contractors and suppliers to fulfill the agreed site plans (CAD experience is a strong preference but not essential) and other infrastructure requirements (e.g., power distribution, tracking, fencing for temporary and fixed venues and purpose-built venues used during festivals and year-round activities).
In consultation with the Head of Production, maintain and monitor the production budget lines allocated to this role, including raising purchase orders and following financial processes through to the final stage of invoice reconciliation.
Create the production schedule, crew requirement, and security schedule for each festival, working within the local council's Land Use Agreement (LUA).
Ensure a detailed, smooth handover from the CF's production team to our external production companies to allow successful delivery of each festival.
Lead on contractor H&S paperwork to ensure safe festival sites during build, live festival days, and de-rig of the festival build.
Work with the Partner Delivery Manager to support the delivery of all production needs and requirements of sponsors, partners, and individual donors to fulfill their contractual benefits and cultivation plans on-site at each festival.
In collaboration with Marketing, and supported by the wider operations and development team, oversee the installation of all site signage to ensure an excellent visual, welcoming, and accessible experience for audiences, partners, and participants.
In collaboration with wider CF teams, oversee associated production requirements for on-site food and beverage for participants, staff, crew, sponsors, and the public.
Deliver on all requirements for site-dressing, including crew and furniture requirements.
Job Requirements
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
1. Knowledge of all technical disciplines with an ability to specify systems and understand quotes.
2. Demonstrable evidence of working in live events or cultural industries.
3. Professional experience of designing, building, and delivering events of high quality.
4. CAD skills to a reasonable level.
5. Understanding of technical requirements for live events.
6. Strong managerial skills with the ability to motivate teams and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders both internal and external.

Job Responsibilities
In collaboration with the wider teams, the Production Manager will deliver on all day-to-day production requirements to support the technical infrastructure and production design of all festivals and year-round activities. With inclusion, equity, and sustainability driving the charity's strategic future planning, the postholder will work closely across internal teams to fulfill CF's vision; a world in which everyone can create and explore culture.
The post-holder will build relationships with all CF suppliers and contractors and work closely with colleagues to achieve inclusive, accessible, and safe events for a diverse range of audiences.
The post-holder reports into the Head of Production and works closely with the Operations team and external Production companies.
