The Primary school in Wokingham are seeking a passionate and dedicated EAL Assistant with a focus on English as an Additional Language (EAL) to join the team and support the KS1/KS2 students. The successful candidate will provide a positive learning environment, and help the Primary students achieve their full potential in mastering English.
September 2024 start!
Qualifications:
* Hold a bachelor’s degree (2:2 or above).
* Experience working with KS1/KS2 children or in an educational setting
* Experience working with EAL students (preferred)
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in working with EAL
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
EAL Assistant Key Responsibilities:
* Provide EAL support in small groups and 1:1.
* To assist with the general pastoral care of KS1/KS2 EAL
* Promote positive values, attitudes, and good pupil behaviour.
* Actively encourage the inclusion of all students to participate in the life and activities of the Wokingham Primary school.
* Support the KS1/KS2 teacher with monitoring progress.
* Assisting in the planning and learning activities.
* Support pupils with their educational and social development by modelling positive behaviour and demonstrating high expectations.
