I am recruiting on behalf of a dynamic and forward-thinking HR team looking for a self-motivated People Advisor to join their growing People Team. Based in London, with occasional travel between sites, you will be supporting various business areas across a wide range of HR matters.
About the Role
As a People Advisor, you will work closely with managers and employees across multiple divisions to provide expert guidance on HR matters. A major part of your role will involve managing Employee Relations casework, including grievance, disciplinary, performance management, and sickness absence. You will also support the HR Business Partners with change initiatives, such as restructures and term changes. The ideal candidate will be passionate about HR, proactive in offering solutions, and comfortable in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Generalist HR Support
* Employee Relations: Manage end-to-end casework, including grievance, disciplinary, performance management, and absence.
* Change Projects: Assist in managing change initiatives such as restructures, reorganisations, and changes to terms and conditions.
* HR Policy: Champion the consistent application of HR policies and procedures across the business.
* Coaching: Work directly with managers to coach them in best people management practices and enhance team effectiveness.
* Support on People Projects: Collaborate on initiatives relating to employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, and wellbeing.
Development & Implementation of HR Policies
* Assist in reviewing and updating HR policies and procedures to ensure they align with best practice and business needs.
* Deliver training to managers to ensure they are fully informed and compliant with HR policies and procedures.
Administration & General Management
* Ensure all HR-related records are accurately maintained and compliant with GDPR.
* Proactively manage tasks related to occupational health referrals, flexible working requests, and family leave.
* Support the HR Business Partner team with strategic people programs and projects.
What You Will Bring to the Role:
Essential:
* Proven experience in a generalist People Advisor role, with expertise in managing high-volume employee relations casework.
* In-depth knowledge of employment law and the ability to apply this knowledge pragmatically in a business context.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
* A track record of coaching and supporting managers to improve operational performance and employee engagement.
* CIPD qualified (level 5 or working towards) or equivalent experience.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR systems.
Desirable:
* Experience in mediation to resolve employee disputes.
* Previous exposure to unionised environments and experience managing trade union relationships.
* Experience in delivering management training.
