About Chirk Court: Chirk Court is a well-established care home managed by ClwydAlyn Housing, known for providing high-quality care and support to older individuals, particularly those living with dementia. The facility offers a warm, friendly, and homely environment for up to 66 residents, with each resident having their own en-suite room. Chirk Court boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including a purpose-built dementia care unit based on the University of Stirling’s principles for excellent dementia care delivery. The home is set in a quiet residential area of Chirk, easily accessible to local amenities and transport services to Wrexham, Oswestry, and Llangollen.
Position Overview: As a Senior Day Care Practitioner at Chirk Court, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate, high-quality care to our residents. You will lead a dedicated team of care staff, ensuring that care delivery meets the highest standards. You will be working in a small household setting with 10 residents, supporting them with personal care and administering medication. Collaboration with other senior practitioners in different households is essential for the smooth operation of the care department.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and support a team of care staff, ensuring the highest standards of care delivery.
* Manage the staffing rota to meet the diverse needs of our residents.
* Administer medication and provide personal care to residents.
* Conduct direct supervision and support of care staff to maintain care standards.
* Utilize IT systems for care planning and record-keeping.
* Engage with residents, their families, and stakeholders to achieve set objectives.
Qualifications and Experience:
* NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, Diploma Level 3, or Core qualification Level 3 Health and Social Care.
* Completion of the All Wales Induction Framework or the Principles and Values section of the framework if qualified.
* Understanding of the physical, social, and psychological needs of individuals in residential care.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Willingness to develop knowledge and skills in current residential care technology.
* Commitment to a non-judgemental approach in work.
* Positive, proactive personality capable of overcoming challenges to achieve positive outcomes.
