W e put our customers at the heart of everything we do by striving to make our customers' business better every day Summary and purpose of position: 12 month FTC Reporting to the Head of FP&A and responsible for FP&A for the Group – managing all planning processes (5YP, Budget, F1, F2, LBEs) and critical internal planning, reporting and analysis with a particular focus on Cash & balance sheet. A critically important and core part of the Wincanton finance function. Duties and responsibilities: Manage key elements of financial planning, closing and reporting processes (Strategic Plan, Annual Plan, Forecasts, actuals and Reporting & Analytics) for the P&L, Balance Sheet and Statement of Cash Flows Manages the annual budget process, including developing key assumptions, working with business partners to ensure budgets are appropriate and that internal partners establish action plans that achieve the necessary financial outputs Manage the company’s ongoing forecast process for Free Cash Flow, balance sheet items, fed this into the going concern assessments completed as part of statutory close Provide financial support by providing analysis, review, planning and control to ensure that the organisation's financial resources are managed in accordance with accounting principles Develop Executive Presentations, monthly Executive reviews, quarterly BOD packages, etc. Support the delivery of the company plan by tracking and following up on risks and opportunities Gap identification and resolution in order to ensure delivery of strategic plan, Annual Plan, Forecasts Liaise with sectors/Operations Finance to ensure compliance with planning & Reporting & Analytics requirements Work closely with Central Finance and accounting teams to ensure actual financials align with planning assumptions and forecasts align with accounting principles Lead and support the delivery of process simplification and standardisation and continually drive for best practice and develop a culture for innovation Build and maintain value driving relationships across the organisation that support business performance and integrate reporting across all business functions Use analytics to go beyond the numbers, using a variety of data sets to drive insights. Provide investor relations support to the global team Analyse industry trends and competitor strategies in order to identify and make recommendations on opportunities Collaborate with the Senior Leadership in all aspects of financial support, project analysis and modelling. Prepare sophisticated financial modelling to determine solutions for complex financial issues Typical Outputs : Annual budgets and forecasts 3year and 5 year plans Periodic Board / Group reporting packs Cashflow forecasts, Going Concern assessments Experience, skills and attributes: Qualified accountant with 5 years experience 5 years of previous demonstrable and progressive experience in strategic and tactical corporate planning Excellent working knowledge and understanding of accounting and finance principles Strong working knowledge of relevant financial and non-financial systems and ERP systems Excellent demonstrable stakeholder management and influencing skills at the top of the corporate ladder and external bodies. Experience of having worked in a Logistics or Supply Chain environment would be useful, but not essential.
