Job Description Join our team as a People Advisor Reporting to the People Manager, your role is to provide support, and give guidance in relation to all HR related matters. This role supports 8 smaller distribution centers across the UK, therefore occasional travel will be required. How will you contribute? Responsible for delivering a high-quality professional people support service to managers and colleagues on site Provide comprehensive advice, guidance and practical support to managers and employees regarding a range of employee relation issues including investigations, performance management, disciplinary, grievances, absence management, and appeals. Responsible for monitoring and ensuring that managers are applying and adhering to best practice/legislation as well as company policies, whilst able to challenge appropriately and timely. Work with key stakeholders to proactively drive case management, provide up to date legal advice, and challenge decision making to ensure we adhere/comply with policies and legislation. Have a passion for coaching and supporting Managers in delivering the policies and procedures in line with site agreements and current legislation. Proactive management of absence including long-term, short-term cases. Track and identify trends, work with managers to develop action plans and efficient management of cases. Deliver excellence by supporting the recruitment process from start-to-finish. Duties will include assisting the management team with sourcing, advertisements, assessment and selection, and onboarding. Assisting, guiding and coaching Managers throughout the process. Ownership of the people administration processes and guiding the People Administrator. Efficient and accurate delivery of all administration activities. Monitoring and auditing people information, maintaining accurate records in line with GDPR. Produce / assist in producing, maintaining accurate HR reports, HR Statistics and KPIs on a weekly / monthly basis. Contribute towards the improvement of processes and methods of operating practices within the site to benefit our customer Support Trade Union engagement and building effective working relationships with key stakeholders. Involvement with promoting Employee Engagement, wellbeing initiatives and long service awards Assist and coach managers in the assessment, development and performance management of employees, ensuring that objectives are set, and performance appraisals conducted for each employee Assist managers with note taking at meetings as required. What will you bring? Previous operational HR experience. Demonstrate experience of working at HR Advisor level or equivalent Previous experience of managing performance, absence, disciplinary and grievances and from investigation through to appeal stage. Good knowledge of employment law. Ideally good knowledge of GDPR and Health & Safety. Ideally CIPD qualified. Demonstrable experience of challenging and influencing managers, providing advice and recommendations on all people related issues. Meticulous in your approach, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Applicants must be proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel and Power Point. Have experience of working on HR systems Takes responsibility and accountability for prioritising work, delegating tasks/responsibility in the support and achievement of goals. Adaptable at managing evolving responsibilities and able to handle a diverse range of tasks. The ability to analyse information, use initiative and problem solve. You must have excellent time management skills, be able to multitask, delegate tasks and deliver at pace. Demonstrate the ability to maintain high standards whilst working under pressure and to deadlines. Excellent interpersonal skills, an effective communicator and demonstrate an ability to develop good working relationships at all levels.
