This an exciting opportunity for a youth justice worker to join us at the Wokingham Prevention and Youth Justice Service (PYJS). The role is a fixed-term contract for 12 months, focused on delivering the Act Now programme, a prevention pathway for children arrested for weapon and violent offences. Key responsibilities: Delivery of the Act Now pathway, including evening and weekend work (with additional pay). Working with a mixed caseload of prevention and diversion cases Completing analytical assessments using the YJB Prevention and Diversion Tool. Wrriting reports for various audiences (Police, partners, panel members). Adhering to youth justice legislation, National Standards, and YJB case management guidance. Delivering workshops and group work to children Essential requirements: Experience in the criminal justice system, preferably with children. Qualification in Social Work, Probation, or Effective Practice in Youth Justice. We will also consider candidate with a relevant qualification (Criminology, Psycology, Teaching) if they can evidence youth justice experience. Ability to work evenings and weekends. Strong analytical and writing skills. Knowledge of youth justice legislation and standards. Proficiency in keeping timely and updated records. Access to a car and a valid driving licence are essential requirements for this role. We support flexible working approaches however we cannot commit to fixed days working from home or that every week this will be a possibility.
