Job Title: Specialist SEN Teacher (Primary) Location: B21, Birmingham Salary: Paid to Scale Contract Type: Full-Time Start Date: January 2025 About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Specialist SEN Teacher to join a growing and reputable specialist provision catering to primary-aged students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly those on the Autism Spectrum (ASD). Key Responsibilities: Develop and deliver tailored lesson plans that address the unique needs of students with SEN, focusing on those with ASD. Implement effective behaviour management strategies to foster a positive and conducive learning environment. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and support staff, to create and execute Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Maintain open communication with parents and carers, providing regular updates on student progress and addressing any concerns. Keep accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with school policies and procedures. Qualifications and Experience: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory. Demonstrable experience working with primary-aged students with SEN, especially those diagnosed with ASD. Proficiency in behaviour management techniques and the ability to apply them effectively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of best practices in SEN education.
