Job Description Technical Lead £40,000 - £55,000 – Depending on experience There are two types of MSP – those afraid of change and those that know things could be better – even when they’ve been going pretty well. We’re working exclusively with a business that have identified what they need in order to scale their business – they’ve been very successful for the past 20 years’ and have a loyal customer base, but they now need to bring someone else in to help lead the way technically as they expand their sales function. We’re looking for an engineer to: Have ownership of the projects process (whether that be design, implementation management or delegation to your reports.) Responsibility for the technical leadership as well as helping shape technology strategy and process alongside the owners of the business. Line management of the service desk – whether that be SLA, process improvement or the day to day management of a small service desk. Continue to be involved in business reviews with existing customers to make sure that needs are being met, their expectations managed and you’re spotting commercial opportunities to pass on to the sales function. You’ll need experience with: Microsoft Modern workplace technologies – Especially Sharepoint and Intune – but a strong understanding of all of Microsoft 365 is important. PowerShell and an interest in automation would be beneficial as the owners have pinpointed areas where automation would have a massive positive impact on both their processes and customers. Strong understanding of Core Infrastructure and Networking. The team has specialists that can deliver on these projects – but you’ll still be responsible for delivery. This role potentially has a route to complete ownership of the technical function within the MSP. They’ve got an ambitious 5 year growth plan and you’ll be a lynch pin around which the business scales their offering. You’ll need to be comfortable having import and sometimes difficult conversations with customers, colleagues and your managers – but you’ll be given the backing to implement change within the business as long as you have the drive to affect the change.
