At Change Grow Live you will be working with people to help them change the direction of their life, grow as an individual, and live life to its full potential. As an Armed Forces Veterans Engagement Volunteer, you will be working in close collaboration with our team assisting them in further developing our veterans support and ensuring that Veterans are made aware of the opportunities that are available to them. Your own experiences would be paramount in supporting Veterans to access the service and utilise the additional opportunities available to them. You will be an integral team member and will play an active role in helping our service users achieve their goals. You will receive training and support within the role. Key Activities: Actively support the Veterans Team to develop and provide quality services to our veterans that are in service with us. Support 1:1 key work sessions including harm reduction advice and recovery planning. Support Veterans who use our services to achieve their care plan goals Support and empower service users to engage in recovery activities both within Change Grow Live, the wider community and other veterans support services. Support Veterans to engage with CGL and partnership agencies. Being a voice and advocating for Veterans in service supporting in the development of pathways and opportunities for Veterans within the wider service. General terms of reference: In carrying out the above duties the post holder will: To help Change Grow Live fulfil its role in offering the best service to our Veterans accessing the service. To perform your volunteering role to the best of your ability. To follow the Change Grow Live’s procedures and standards, including health and safety and equal opportunities, in relation to our staff, volunteers and service users. To maintain the confidential information of Change Grow Live and of our service users; adhering to Change Grow Live’s policies and procedures To meet the time commitments and standards which have been mutually agreed and to give reasonable notice so other arrangements can be made when this is not possible. Person Specification Education Knowledge and Experience: To have served within the UK armed forces or have been the partner or child of a person having served in the armed forces. Understanding of the issues faced by our service user groups and veterans IT literacy Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent time management skills, and an ability to work on own initiative prioritising accordingly. Ability to liaise and work in partnership with a wide range of professionals and agencies.
