Job summary We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic assistant psychologist to join our innovative complications of Excess Weight (CEW) MDT. The team is based in South Tees (the current team base is in Guisborough with frequent travel required to other venuesincluding James Cook University Hospital) The MDT involves joint work with family support workers, nurse, dietitian, physio, psychologist and medical professionals to deliver a coordinated plan of support which includes amongst other things a programme of social activities and events. Main duties of the job The post will include working with young people and their families to support their psychological well-being during their time in the Service. The role involves attending clinics, conducting home visits, delivering group sessions, education sessions and assessing children and young people and their families. The post-holder would also be a key worker within the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT). Enthusiasm and passion for joining all relevant aspects of the service and working with others embedded in the team will be essential. Strong communication skills will be vital in the role as the Children, Young People and families cover a wide range of social and cultural backgrounds and interaction with other services is frequent. The post-holder will have access to safeguarding supervision due to the complex nature of the role. The post-holder will also be a member of the Medical Psychology team withaccess to support, training and supervision as well as networking with other assistant psychologists and clinicians.
