Up to 12-month fixed term maternity cover
Student Support and Well-being, part of Student and Campus life, are seeking to appoint a Lead Practitioner for Mental Health (maternity cover). This role is to provide line-management to our Mental Health Advisors and case manage students with complex and acute mental health needs as part of our Student and Campus Life Directorate. This role will work collaboratively with other departments in student and campus life and the wider university. The post holder will take a lead role with risk management, the implementation of the Suicide Safer strategy, and represent the University at the NHS regional/national forum for suicide and self-harm prevention.
We are looking for:
* A professionally qualified mental health practitioner who is fully registered or accredited with a professional body and who has at least 2 years post qualification experience of working in the field of mental health.
* An experienced and registered Mental Health Professional with managerial experience and leadership skills.
* To line manage and support the Mental Health Advisors in their work, assessing presenting needs and undertake collaborative support planning with students.
* A resilient leader who can support a busy and dedicated team to deliver the best service for our students.
* A leader who can work collaboratively with colleagues in other teams and contribute to a shared approach to support planning and risk management in alignment with our existing policies and practices.
* To take a lead role in the implementation of the Suicide Safer Strategy and provide data that will support improvements in areas of concern.
To lead on NHS projects that seek improvement in mental health services and provision for students in Wrexham University.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable, but not essential.
