You’ll work closely with our UK CEO for Corporate and Commercial, supporting, shaping and executing the strategic direction of the business. You will be exposed to our broader Marsh UK Exec, further enhancing your credentials as a senior member of the UK leadership team.
As COO, you will position Marsh as a leader in digital innovation and operational excellence, fostering a culture of integrity, transparency, and continuous improvement.
The Role
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Marsh Corporate & Commercial UK is a strategic leader responsible for driving the design and transformation of the digitally-enabled Corporate & Commercial UK Target Operating Model (TOM) while ensuring alignment with the Marsh Global TOM. This role involves acting as a key advisor to the UK Corporate & Commercial CEO and senior leadership, facilitating decision-making that prioritizes customer interests and promotes the Marsh and MMC brand.
The COO is responsible for operations, technology, data, digital, change, transformation and first line governance for Corporate & Commercial (C&C), through direct report and matrixed Marsh and MMC functions.
Key responsibilities include:
* Strategic Design: Lead the design and delivery of C&C UK TOM, and strategic projects focussed on operational efficiency, ensuring alignment with placement strategies and broader market transformations. Establish a location strategy and articulate the benefits of the TOM to stakeholders. Design a transition plan with clear milestones and performance metrics.
* Transformation Leadership: Execute the transformation of the C&C UK operating model to deliver the C&C UK TOM. Secure resources and funding, lead change teams, and monitor progress to drive behavioural change across C&C.
* Operational Management: Foster a client-focused culture that aligns with MMC/Marsh values. Oversee operational matters, including IT systems, workflow performance, and governance standards. Drive continuous improvement in quality and efficiency while ensuring effective communication and problem resolution.
* Compliance and Risk Management: Collaborate with the CEO to uphold First Line of Defence activities, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory obligations while minimizing risk exposure.
Your Credentials
* A trusted advisor and strategic enabler, supporting a CEO or comparable executive level leader in leading operational excellence at scale.
* A track record of shaping and executing change across data, digital and broader technology related programmes.
* Experience gained in a FCA regulated financial services organisation.
* This is a Managing Director level role, and the expectation is that you are already performing at either MD level now or are a high performing Director who is ready to be promoted.
