The Applications Specialist is responsible for analytical methods development based in our Application Development Laboratory in Billerica, MA, according to the new analytical needs in the following markets: Foods, Environmental and Toxicology/Forensic, mainly.
In addition, he/she will be responsible for the methods implementation at customer facilities according to specifications from customers and product management.
Analytical techniques to cover include: GCMS, LCMS, DART/MS, Triple Quad MS, and QTOF.
Responsibilities
* Develop new analytical methods at the Application Development Laboratory.
* Analyze customer samples and report results.
* Demonstrate instruments and methods to customers.
* Implement methods at customer facilities.
* Provide sales & technical internal support.
* Deliver advanced user training at Bruker and customer sites.
* Respond to potential customer analytical inquiries.
* Provide customer support (phone, e-mail etc.) for operational, technical, and analytical questions.
* Prepare application notes and scientific posters, as well as give scientific presentations.
Qualifications
* Degree in scientific areas (BS, MSc, Ph.D.) in analytical chemistry, chemical engineering, or related field with reasonable experience in laboratory work covering chromatography and mass spectrometry preferred.
* Experience with analytical instrumentation software products; advanced user of MS Office, databases, and networking.
* Experience with analytical instrumentation, specifically Triple Quad MS, LC/MS, DART/MS, and GC/MS.
* 3 years of relevant industry experience preferred.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, needed with a wide variety of knowledge levels among customers and in-house staff. Organizational abilities and self-motivational skills. Positive attitude and strong sense of commitment to teamwork. Adaptive to dynamic and changing environments.
* Ability to teach analytical techniques and software operation.
* Ability and willingness to travel (20% max).
* Experience with quality standards regulation (ENAC, ASTM, UNE) in a lab environment will be valuable.
* Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English required.
At Bruker, the base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $83,000 and $133,000 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on several job-related factors, including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge, and travel requirements for this position.
