Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit Behaviour Learning Mentors with experience of working with pupils with challenging behaviour. This role will involve working in a number of differing positions starting in December.
Previous experience working with children is essential. Candidates must be energetic, enthusiastic, and able to work using their own initiative. The role involves working with a variety of children on a 1:1 or group basis, across the age and ability spectrum. You will be expected to work alongside key school staff and existing behaviour plans to improve levels of pupil behaviour exhibited in class. Over time, you will build up a supportive working relationship with pupils to act as a mentor and role model, ultimately improving overall attainment.
Main Responsibilities
1. Help the pupils to access the curriculum and tailor lessons or activities to their level of ability.
2. Make learning fun, enjoyable, and accessible.
3. Provide emotional and behavioural support to students, helping them to develop coping strategies and self-regulation skills.
4. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and other staff members to address the individual needs of students.
Essential Criteria
1. Have an interest in supporting children/young people.
2. Right to work in the UK.
3. Relevant references and DBS/police checks.
4. Able to work 5 days a week (term time only).
