JOB OVERVIEW
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a strong candidate to support teaching and learning in Early Years or Key Stage One at Cranmere Primary School in Esher. This role is varied, and we are looking for an adaptable, flexible and resourceful individual able to cope in a high-pressure environment and deal with constantly changing priorities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Motivating and encouraging young children to learn and discover
Ability to establish a rapport with children, interacting with them according to their individual needs and scaffolding their learning
Able to demonstrate boundary setting with young children
Assisting and coaching children on a 1:1 or group basis as needed
Providing personal care to children as needed and supporting their well-being
Supervision of children at lunchtime and supporting them with positive play experiences
Working with the teacher to create stimulating classroom displays and learning resources
Working effectively as part of the teaching team with other support staff and teachers
Maintaining a safe and positive environment for all learners both indoors and outdoors
Upholding the schools safeguarding and child protection procedures
Creating opportunities for all learners to reach their potential, irrespective of ability
Support with the delivery of the curriculum through small group work and interactions with children during continuous provision time
Support the delivery of whole class and small group phonics teaching using our Structured Synthetic Phonics programme
WHAT WE OFFER:
Term-time employment (8:30am to 3:30pm, five days per week, no Inset day commitment - 32.5 hours per week)

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
Recent experience of working in a Primary school setting (this is essential)
Level 3 (or above) qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (desirable), or
Level 3 (or above) qualification in Early Years childcare for teaching assistants (desirable)
Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
A desire to work in an energetic and creative environment
The enthusiasm to enjoy and embrace an outdoor curriculum
Recent experience of working with children under the age of 5
A high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults
A flexible approach and the ability to use your own initiative when necessary
A ‘can-do’ attitude
A commitment to the happiness well-being, self-esteem and progress of everyone at the school
