Main Responsibilities
The main responsibility of the Assistant Producer in the BBC Sport NI team is to deliver engaging, creative and entertaining digital content. The role encompasses a variety of tasks, including original sports journalism, writing, editing, and packaging digital video content for our website, app, and social media platforms.
The work is varied in a fast-moving, demanding environment and demands flexibility, creativity, and enthusiasm. You’ll move from editing digital highlights of sporting action to creating bespoke social media content.
You’ll embrace the BBC’s digital development plan and ensure content is delivered to the highest standards on all digital platforms. You will be a passionate sports fan, with experience of making digital video content. You’ll love the idea of working on live sporting events – from making digital highlight packages to working on location at sporting events to produce bespoke social media content. Your schedule will be flexible to cover live sport on weekends and at evenings.
Are you the right candidate?
* Experience of working in sports journalism.
* Ability to video edit for digital platforms including social media.
* Ability to write sports copy (news, live, and features) for digital platforms.
* Strong understanding of sports social media content.
* Ability to use cameras for digital platforms.
* Experience as a multi-platform journalist.
