Maintenance and Compliance Manager
Location: Cambridge
Salary: £45,000–£47,000 per annum (37.5 hours/week, full-time, permanent)
Role Overview:
This position involves planning, coordinating, and supervising maintenance activities to ensure a safe, functional environment across the estate. The successful candidate will lead a team of 10 staff, manage statutory compliance, and oversee maintenance programs, refurbishment projects, and emergency response efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Operations
* Inspect and maintain buildings, identifying issues and coordinating repairs.
* Oversee planned and reactive maintenance schedules, ensuring timely completion.
* Lead seasonal preventative maintenance activities.
Compliance
* Manage statutory servicing plans and corrective actions.
* Serve as Deputy Responsible Person for asbestos and water hygiene.
* Update asset registers and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Conduct contractor and team safety inspections; prepare risk assessments.
Team Leadership & Finance
* Train and support team members to ensure safe, efficient operations.
* Collaborate with other departments to enhance teamwork across the estate.
* Prepare budgets for training, servicing, and maintenance purchases.
Qualifications and Skills:
Essential:
* Trade-related qualifications or significant on-site experience.
* Health and Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH) or proven competence.
* Experience in building maintenance, fault finding, and managing compliance (e.g., fire safety, asbestos, legionella).
